Crossplay MAC + PC
I play on PC, my brother has a MAC. If he buys the game, could we both play together?

I checked online and found conflicting information, so would love to know before I convince him to buy the game on the basis of us playing together.

Yes, my roommate and I tried during Early Access, and it works. But the full is not available on Mac yet (release date TBD). That being said, he will be able to play on GeForce Now. Cross-Play is possible between PC, Mac, and GeForce Now (which I think, might be Windows instances).
Mac version will be released only with consoles the 6 dec, and for Mac the date isn't totally sure yet.

And it's the same for the could version, don't remind the name, geforce perhaps.

Myself I use a cloud computer (Shadow but with this name you probable won't find it lol) but that's a full Windows PC, no need of any special adaptation, but it's not free.

It's nothing uncommon, very few dev making also a Mac release don't achieve release it at same date and won't delay for specific problems with the Mac project.

No GeForce Now will be also available the 6 Sept at best.
Under normal circumstances, yes. However, the Windows version just saw its full release, whereas the Mac version is still in Early Access. So no, at this very moment, you cannot play together, since the Mac version is an update behind Windows.

I’m playing on GeForce Now as I am writing this. Where did you get the Dec. 6th date for the Mac release?

A dev reent post/article listing all dates. Seems I miss read, sorry.

But I'm right on one thing, GeForce is no way auto, each game is ported one by one and with dev contribution.

I go search what I read.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on September 6th on PS5 (September 3rd for owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition). We’re also targeting September 6 for Mac (via Steam, GOG, GeForce NOW) — to be confirmed. Additional platforms TBD.

EDIT:
I didn't miss read, more the dev that miss write.

Thanks for the link. I agree, I would be a little confused by what Larian wrote, considering that GeForce Now is platform-agnostic game streaming platform. Mac users can play BG3 on GeForce Now right now via browser (but not Safari) or the Mac native client, provided they own the Steam version of the game (the GOG version of the game is currently not supported). Even Xbox and Linux can run the game on GeForce Now via browser. This is just a temporary solution and I will gladly install the game on my Mac, if it comes out on September 6th.

Again, games aren't automatically on GeForce as you seem believe.

The error probably comes from a copy paste, without realizing the GeForce version was ready.

Make sure your brother buys it on Steam when its out.

I personally like buying from GOG over Steam when possible, as it ensures all games are DRM free, if a game has DRM. That and the games are mine forever, even if...somehow...Steam goes under.

GOG will only have Windows version (at least it says so, only has windows icon, not both, unlike Steam page).

I don't remember claiming games were automatically available on GeForce Now. I am quite aware that GeForce Now only supports a limited number of games. But Baldur's Gate 3 is one of them
Hi there, I am getting an incompatible game version error when trying to join between Mac and PC?? Is there a known fix for this

The Mac OS version is still in Early Access. It's not the full release version. The only fix is to wait for the full Mac OS version to be released, hopefully on September 6th.

Nope, the Mac OS version is still in Early Access. The full version will be released with Patch 3 on September 21st (this coming week).
