Monkarian
So some notes for the Monk and Barbarian class - and how they interact in a multiclass in BG3 (note, this is how these things are in BG3- I know how they are in table top):

1. Monks can use any non heavy, non special weapon with dexterity as a monk weapon. So yes, longswords (and the like), but no greatswords (and the like).
2. Barbarian rage applies to any melee attacks, so it does interact positively with monk weapons and fury of blows.
3. Reckless also interacts positively with monk weapons.
(addendum- this means you will be able to sneak attack while raging in a barb/rogue multi)
4. The unarmored defense of Barbarian and Monk do not stack, so that's like the baseline rules. It will simply use the better of your dex + con or wis.

So it looks like the Monk/Barbarian multiclass will be better than expected.

As a Barbarian/Monk in game, I am allowed to use a great axe with proficiency, I just do not get the martial arts bonus action. I can still use flurry of blows when spending a KI point

I love learning something new, never thought about that combo. Thanks!

I think the best configuration is Warrior (lv.6) with Extra Attack
and 4 Statistic Point or Talent.

I am proving the Monk (5)-Warlock only for fun.
I have a Shield Dwarf. I can use Medium Armor and War Axe and Hammer.
