Baldur's Gate 3
Any option to disable the immersion breaking narrator?
"you see this" "you do this" it's all pretty immersion breaking. Is there really no way to turn this off? It's really spoiling me getting into the story. Why would they use something like this that's going to break the immersion?

Unironically, that would be based.

Complaining about Amelia Tyler narrating? Blasphemy! :O

uh she is goofy looking
The narrator is way less immersion breaking than the roll of dice, and I still love both.
i dont like it either but i get why its there
If you do not like DMs talking, then I wouldn't recommend Divinity Original Sin or other similar games either.

Never played DnD but i heard its like table top fantasy with a dungeon master who would say this sort of thing. THERE it makes sense.

It doesn't make sense in a computer game to break the fourth wall like that.

Thats where i think you are confused. You think its weird because you think you are playing a character within the fantasy setting of DND.

But you actually are the player, controlling the character set within the story the DM is telling you.

It's basically same thing, but they chose immersion breaking dialogue. The narrator wasn't there for most of the beginning intro, which played just fine and didn't need to be narrated. At least they should have had the option so people that don't like it can turn it off.

No, complaining about what is being said, not who is saying it.

I know, was just kidding ^^

But as others have said, BG3 is a game that takes the table-top DND experience and translates it directly into a video-game, which is why there is the narrator constantly describing things as that is how the experience would be if one would play DnD with friends at a table.

Same reason why the dice exists for everything we do as well. I personally find it intriguing and unique to have a narrator describing stuff.

I too find it weird that this dungeons and dragons game uses a narrator like table rpgs would

lol, this dude
I guess you have literally zero thoughts in your head if you think a DM narrator is immersion breaking.

I'm not sure what her looks have to do with narration.
yh i also find it annoying. To idiots who say its in tabletop- This IS NOT tabletop and i dont even care about tabletop. Played tons of dnd games - system of stats/attributes is good - that whole nerd/incel tabletop culture is not and i find it very annoying when developers try to literally copy that tabletop experience just to please a very minor part of audience. Tons of people who bought bg 3 never even heard about dnd. They just want good rpg.

But why ruin the game for people that don't want that experience by not having an option to disable it? It's needed in table top DnD, it's not needed in a computer game.

To each their own. In the Early access I found the narration to be more immersive imo.

But then how would I know what I see and hear? Or what characters look like.

Oh...wait...
Never played DnD, whines about a standard DnD thing.
It's part of the game deal with it or refund
