It's honestly really weird that you can't do this already. Like when you are trying to do some sort of ambush in combat like for example have a bunch of ranged characters stand ready to shoot somebody as soon as they come into range but no, you have to wait for their turn. So the entire time, all the range characters are just standing there unless you move them forward on their turn and then shoot a really crappy shot.

I haven't used it but I see a dip action is this suppose to be Larain's version of dodge?
I do agree that a read action on a tactical combat based on initiative is a must. Especially when you have things like bless that can give an advantage to an attack or the factor light can play on getting an advantage to your attack. Or if you simply want to stealth the party why you use one person to draw enemies into range.
You can switch to other party members.
E.G.
1. Your rogue is first
2. Instead of completing your rogue turn, you click on another party member(s) and they do their thing, ending their turn.
3. Then your rogue can do back stabs etc.
No, it refers to placing a characters weapon in, for example, fire, to deal fire damage for a short time. It is a leftover gimmick from the Divinity games they should have dropped for BG3, but did not.
In case you did not know, the game is based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, and there the ready action is an important and integral part of the turn based fight system. So, it is almost a crime that they did not manage to implement it into the 1.0 version.
