Delay Turn or Action?
With the full release have they still not implemented anyway to take a Readying Actionper 5ed rules?
My rogue ALWAYS has the highest intiative, but this means he never has an opportunity to use backstab because none of his companions have started to enagage the enemy yet before his turn.

Agree completely. Also, if you have a melee character who can't move all the way to the enemy... Sure, you could just switch to your ranged weapon but I'd much rather ready a melee action for if they come in range. Solasta does this with no problems at all, I don't get why BG3 can't. It's in the standard 5e rules!

Yes, this is very disappointing. Solasta has it. Also, how can then have failed to implement the Dodge action? This should be super simple to add.

you can't compare Solasta and BG3. Solasta is a AAA game mabe by well known Devs and it also has full licence from WoTC. While BG3 is a first project from a small and young inde studio Larian with a very limit budget and basic Open Gaming License from WoTC.

you can't compare Solasta and BG3. Solasta is a AAA game mabe by will known Devs and it also has full licence from WoTC. While BG3 is a first project from a small and young inde studio Larian with a very limit budget and basic Open Gaming License from WoTC.

Yeah my bad, I've checked in Bing, this is not there 1st game. Larian is a well known hentai visual novels game studio.

no dodge or ready is really disappointing. Dodge should be extremely easy to implement. Ready isn't much different from a coding perspective from attack of opportunity i wouldn't think. what's the rationale. it has to be intentional. :(

I think this would be a great addition.

It's honestly really weird that you can't do this already. Like when you are trying to do some sort of ambush in combat like for example have a bunch of ranged characters stand ready to shoot somebody as soon as they come into range but no, you have to wait for their turn. So the entire time, all the range characters are just standing there unless you move them forward on their turn and then shoot a really crappy shot.

I haven't used it but I see a dip action is this suppose to be Larain's version of dodge?

I do agree that a read action on a tactical combat based on initiative is a must. Especially when you have things like bless that can give an advantage to an attack or the factor light can play on getting an advantage to your attack. Or if you simply want to stealth the party why you use one person to draw enemies into range.

To the OP, I'm still learning this (so maybe I'm wrong) but I think you can.
You can switch to other party members.

E.G.
1. Your rogue is first
2. Instead of completing your rogue turn, you click on another party member(s) and they do their thing, ending their turn.
3. Then your rogue can do back stabs etc.

No, it refers to placing a characters weapon in, for example, fire, to deal fire damage for a short time. It is a leftover gimmick from the Divinity games they should have dropped for BG3, but did not.

In case you did not know, the game is based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, and there the ready action is an important and integral part of the turn based fight system. So, it is almost a crime that they did not manage to implement it into the 1.0 version.
