Remove player character from party

Does anyone know how to remove a player character from party? I'm stuck with a friends character and can't remove his for some reason.

I can't speak with the character for some reason.

I tried that too yes, no option to speak with the character at all.

Same problem here, I can't seem to find any UI option for that, I can change Ownership of the Character to another player in the Session Settings via ESC but I can't leave a friends character in Camp and take an Origin NPC with me instead - there really needs to be a solution for that if there isn't already one that we're missing!

I found a fix for it, you need to press escape, then go into the session menu and you can remove the character from there!

can you elaborate how? i only had arrows next to the character in the session screen with which i could shift them from one player to the next but i couldn't find a way to remove it?

It seems it only works if you play multiplayer for some reason, i can't seem to find any other way unfortunately.

But how exactly could you remove the character on the session screen? Where did you click to get rid of it?

You don't, it's specifically designed so that player characters cannot be removed from the party. It's a pisspoor design choice that the game at no time warns you about.

Yes. Copy paste from the MP that Larian put in DOS2.

Thanks for the info. Wow, with so many other great MP features like easy connecting / reconnecting and the party management tools, what a truly aweful design choice to offer no system for temporarily changing out player party members. :/
