Until mods are back and we are able to create characters using normal PHB rules playing is kinda pointless

So then don't play?

I am not, I consider useless homebrew introduced in last minute as bad faith of developer.

um this the official rules now noob

You'll need to mod your game then. Larian is using One D&D rules for character creation, and that won't change.

That's not even One D&D, that's Tasha's rule.

EDIT : Which is the rule used for organized play, such as the Adventurers League

Same here. I enjoyed DoS2 fine. But I expect a D&D game to actually be a D&D game. This game may be a huge hit, but I'm shelving my copy until someone puts in mods that lets me play the game I originally purchased.

Yes but Tasha's isn't PHB and is not required to play D&D. That's the point. One D&D is all about re-writing the PHB.

Pointless how? Does the story break if Drow have the same starting stats as a Halfling or Dragonborn? Just wondering how it's "pointless".

What they did is not tasha's cauldron. Humans, Half-Elves and Shield Dwarves got nerfed and what they gave them in compensation is laughable. All in the name of "fun" and homogenization.

Its not. Official rules are from PHB of 5edition. Tasha(which those changes are not) is optional and is not official rule. One dnd is not out yet so it can't be officials rule and seeing how it will share fate of 4ed no one will care about those rules either way.
