Fraudulent Bait and Switch for Mac Gamers!
I purchase and support Larian products, because I can game on my MacOS workstation. I was -SUPER- excited that Steam notified us that BG3 would be releasing, finally today August 3, 2023. Only after purchasing this game, and wasting my bandwidth; the launcher pops up a tiny little notice that the MacOS version will be released Sept 3 (or whenever the fxck they feel like it TBD). I would -NEVER- have purchased this game for Win10 use, and would -NEVER- have purchased the early access MacOS version.

This is clearly a fraudulent (and overt) bait and switch. I have every single one of Larian's titles that play on MacOS. When you don't even both to notify your supported OS that "oh yeah, guess you'll get the full version some other time" is utter deceit, lies and abuse. Not only has my desire to even bother playing BG3, been ruined; my friend group (who i'd be playing with) also now suffers.

You absolutely suck, Larian. I am going to have to think long and hard before even -CONSIDERING- buying -ANY- of your future products.

I do think they could do a better job on the store page regarding the delay. I mean there are MacOS system requirements listed in plain view.

Though, imagine if all bait and switches could be refunded, would be an end to this kind of fraud! Er, wait how is this fraud again?

I mean they said in multiple announcements that only PC was releasing early...

PC =/= Mac

Attenpt a refund if you truly think you were defrauded. Whining to other players isn't going to help.

Cause, you know, stating in the news posts that the Mac version has been pushed back to Sept. 6th is "defrauding" now.
That sucks, but first of all, that's what gaming on a Mac gets you, and secondly, you can still refund the game if you haven't actually played it assuming 2 weeks haven't passed since you bought it, and thirdly, they apparently did put the information out there for all to see that PC and Mac got different release dates, and they did so quite some time ago, so you can't really justify blaming them for not providing you with information they actually did provide you with, when the reason you weren't aware is that you just didn't look for it.

I know, it sucks, you're upset, but it's no more their fault than it is yours in the end.

When I grew up, gaming on a Mac was like trying to cook eggs inside your own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥:
It never worked as well as I had hoped, if it worked at all, and it got a lot messier than I could handle.

They DID NOT say anywhere on Steam (the sales platform) there would be any difference in release. All icons clearly show the pc/Mac together. The only time they mentioned this off steam; as far as I can now see; was June 29. And this is a tiny single line in a ton of paragraphs. Which still means that every other instance of update, and included early access builds were parity between Mac and pc. They inferred this by not saying anything. It’s absolutely bait and switch fraud.

Lol also MacOS is a supported and destined OS; so because you’re fan boys or anti Mac; means fxck all to this problem.

And staying it after I’ve bought the game believing a full and final release; is what?

Not stating that anywhere on the sales platform, is what?

Then sue them, see how far it goes.

This sounds like a rather severe case of "I game on a Mac and know full well many Mac releases come after PC releases, but I was too lazy to actually find out what the situation is, and now I'm mad."

Also, gaming on a Mac is the equivalent of trying to ice skate with two broken ankles.

PC: Hey Mac
Mac: Hey PC
PC: What's this I hear about you having problems running games again?

PC = Personal Computer. It should say releasing for Windows Aug 3rd.

Also check the release info graph. Does not say Mac Sep 6th.

Fellow Mac user here: the delayed launch on Mac has been known since late June. It’s posted in the Community updates. It’s in the product image. They’ve reiterated in multiple CU that the release date was still up in the air. Yeah, it’s not in the most obvious location. But it’s there.
