Report a translation problem
I tried it by repeatedly punching an NPC in the camp till i scored a crit. The normal dice for Monk lvl3 is 1d6, when you crit is 2d6 (Should be 3d6).
Unsure why they made this choice, it could also be that they just forgot about it. For example, Flurry of Blows, if you look at the tooltip, doesn't scale with STR but if you actually go STR and use Flurry of Blows, they damage you will do is higher than what the tooltip says and the rolls in chat show you that it's using and adding str.

Melee weapons and unarmed are different things a anyways , if you count unarmed as melee weapon attack then you should also make Savage attacker feat to also work with monks and that would just make the class even more ridiculously OP Than it already is.
Fire, Air and Water all wield weapons and benefits from the druid being a half orc with savage attacks.
Earth does not use weapons, attacking with its fists. Does not benefit from savage attacks, but benefits from tavern brawler.
