Nothing fanboy about it, just expressing that their drivers have historically sucked in my experience. And I'm not alone. Some of my friends with AMD cards aren't having a great time either. Hopefully this will become less of an issue as competition is good. Developers often have to implement vendor specific implementations to mitigate these issues/idiosyncracies. I don't have any bias towards Nvidia after some of the ♥♥♥♥ they've pulled, but I've had a better driver experience.
P.s you don't need to to defend gpu vendors for free, they see you as an audience to scalp lmao.
There you'll find two .exe files. One with DX11 in the name, the other bg3.exe. The second on is the Vulcan based game .exe. Make a link to desktop, start the game via link. Steam and larian launcher won't activate.
Game runs far more smoothly.
For me it was totally the other way around and I have exactly the same specs as you.. Vulcan was totally stable but DX11 had issues.
RTX 4070 Ti
32Gb DDR4 RAM
Almost 40 hours played and not had a single crash using Vulkan.
I capped fps at 60, and haven't seen the game actually dip below 60 in all of that 40 hours of play. The only reason I leave it cap is I see no reason to want higher framerates and a smooth framerate is way more important than a higher one for this type of game, imo.
been using AMD cards for the last few generations for my main PC and had 0 issues.. But had a 3080 in my second PC and had quite a few dodgy driver problems..
AMD GPUs and drivers have come a long long way since back when they had problems.
