Blender? Seriously we're talking baout gaming here, not application, development and AI where Nvidia has the lead with it's CUDA core implementation.
I'm a gamer, AMD delivers on this front with cost competitive GPU's and stable drivers.
For those of you crashing, too, are you using discord at the same time ? Someone earlier in the comments said it could be hardware acceleration on Discord.
Anyway, I had two areas where the crashes were excessive:
Radeon X7900 XTX - with OBS running though. So that doesn't help stability at all.
Area around Grimforge and Baldur's Gate proper, where I wrapped up some side quests.

Lowered max clock to around 2.2GHz, 0 crashes since
doesnt helped. game is still crashing
Same! Glad to finally read someone also having these crashes in a specific location. For me it's also in the Grymforge area. Never had problems in the wilderness area at the start of the game.
Fixed Issues
Application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Baldur's Gate 3 with DirectX® 11 API set on certain systems with Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs.
I tried it, still got crashes in both DX11 and Vulkan, even at the character creation.
EDIT : Trying on Vulkan, fulscreen instead of borderless and FPS capped at 80. Seems to work for now. I will edit if it still crash.
EDIT 2 : Nvm, crashes again, but I tried what HappyDroplets told and did a DDU before installing the new drivers, works like a charm now, thanks!
You don't even own the game on that account
Anyway,
Personally experienced no hard crashes in BG3 on my 7900XTX so far, but I've been playing on Vulkan since I got the game. there are *heavy* performance drops in some areas like Moonrise towers but so far on my end everything seems to be fine. Running a MBA card with 23.8.1.
I soft-crashed around twice I think? I wasn't able to replicate it and it was on both a older driver and game version, and it seemed to be related to opening the inventory. Then again, this was a soft crash that caused a driver crash, but the game recovered just fine.
Generally keep in mind that 23.8.1 (the current AMD driver) specifically lists DirectX11 crashes as a known issue, so for the time being, it seems to be either D3D11 with risk of crashing, or Vulkan with degraded performance. At least until AMD pushes out a new driver with a fix.
