Local Co-Op?

Since it released now, is it possible for Local Couch Coop now? I remember a few days ago this was not possible.

According to something i've read. You need two controllers and have to activate both in the main menu. Thats all i know.

For me it worked after starting a New Game and then hitting a Button on the second Controller, after I was thrown into the Game.
Unfortunately, my Partner had to do the Character creation with only half the screen available, but apart from that its working now.

For those playing local co-op, how is the fixed split screen? I'm wanting to buy it so my wife and I can play together. I figure it'll be okay if we hook my tower up to the TV but wanted to make sure it wasn't just terrible before forking out the cash.

This is with 1 person buying the game, right?

Can it also work with 2 USB keyboards/mice connected to the same PC?
Or alternatively with 1 player using keyboard/mouse and the 2nd using a controller?

Last question: I read that with local co-op with 2 players, the screen gets split into 2. But, I have a dual monitor setup (for work). Can you make it so that one player's screen is on monitor 1, and the other player's screen on monitor 2?
