Overcompressed Audio.
Don't know how, but some audio seems way lower quality than before. Just got to Laezel and her audio is has a static sound to it that i don't remember it having during early access. But on the other hand the other audio sounds fine.

EDIT: just got to Shadowheart and hers is even worse, sounds like she's talking from the other side of a door.

same , something feels odd about the voice audio, cant recall having that impression in ea.

Hmmm... I'm having a different audio issue where the dialog is very hard to hear... lowered all the other volume levels but have to amp up my system audio. Never experienced this in the EA version.

I will check out the audio occlusion options and see if that might be part of the problem.

I also noticed the audio is a lot more quiet, it feels like 100% is what 40% was in EA.
I have the same issue as well. It's really strange.

yup same
it's all weirdly compressed - have to bump my headphones amp 10-20% higher than normal

I also have lots of extra 'clicks' like a sort of rain over the sound which switches on and then not off.

This is a common issue for now.

Agree, the sound overall feels reduced.

It legitimately does sound like we've gone from the studio audio, to audio that was recorded over phone calls. :winter2019joyfultearsdog:

It's kind of whatever to me as it'll likely be addressed in a future patch and it doesn't break the game. But just a "yeah same" thread so folks know that this is potentially common.

Audio in general seems to be a bit weird right now. My character is screaming his incantations with all his might but it sounds like a whisper.
Meanwhile his eldritch blast sounds like a bomb exploding inside of my ear.

Same. I initially thought maybe it was an issue with my headphones, but they're working fine for other things.
Mazrim Aug 3, 2023 @ 2:11pm
yup sound is awful, really detracting from the experience.

For me the quality is fine, but the dialogue volume is low compared to other games and I have to lower ingame volume for other things while pumping up the Windows volume setting to hear it properly. I have extremely good hearing and sensitive ears so have to basically double the volume actually worries me because if I forget to lower it back to normal and then play a different game it might end up damaging my hearing.

Audio Quality is really bad compared to Early Access something went wrong with the Release regarding audio, hope they fix this immediately.
CyanGrave Aug 3, 2023 @ 2:43pm
Sounds like the accessibility option to center cinematic audio is switched on at all times and ignores the settings, so dialog audio gets centered/converted to mono. That's what makes it sound so bad, especially when there's reverb and the likes added. That's what makes it sound like it comes out from a tin can.
