Cross Platform saves allows you to save your game on PC and continue playing on Playstation or Xbox
I've just done this on mine and my husbands PC/Game and we can save.
Clearly it is a bug and shouldn't need to do this, but it's a workaround.
400k people are playing the game right now, all saving and loading their games
Larian's servers are crying right now trying to service all the requests and is falling behind
All that is required to fix this is waiting ~5 minutes for the server to get to your request and then just shut the setting off in game after the save has finished uploading
After waiting in game and shutting off Cross Platform saving I no longer have a single issue saving or loading since I am no longer having to wait on their servers, and since I only ever plan on playing this on PC I don't need it activated anyways
It didn't require deleting anything or restarting the game, it just required patience
This is also affected by your Internet Upload speeds and your system usages, If you system is a potato with the additional handicap of abysmal upload speeds you are going to have a bad time trying to communicate with an already hosed server as you fight everyone else's faster upload speeds and PCs
You can have the fastest download speeds in your area, but if your upload speed is crap you are going to have a bad time uploading files to a cloud service
Certainly not the end of the world but I'm sure it's something they want to take care of. it may be a server side issue, but there should be some type of...almost like an irq timeout where if the servers are overloaded it just pings the player client back when ready as opposed to having the player clients PC get stuck in a constant loop which is exactly what is happening. It also begins to slow the game down immensely after a couple of hours, even if you are just standing in place which is very strange.
It was completely fine for the first 5 hours or so of gameplay, then it just got stuck trying to save. You can still go anywhere and do anything you like though. That really stinks for people who do assume the server will catch up just to find that, well it doesn't. Unless you are inferring that bc of the player count it might snap back and decide to work at teh 5 hours of trying to sync unsuccessfully while at the same time stopping you from saving locally? Maybe the 6 hour mark? Is 9 the magic number? If they don't have it fixed by tomorrow night I'll play until it gets stuck, go out for the evening, check and see if it is still stuck, then go to bed. That should give it a solid 12 hours. Will that be long enough to convince you something is amiss and the servers will eventually "catch up"?
for me what fixed the issue was to log in with my larian account through the launcher.
I linked my steam account to the larian account using their website :)
