How games like BG3 trick you into not being able to refund
Character creation takes like 1.5 hours, you don't get enough time left for actual gameplay to decide whether you like the game or not.

Isn't this a manipulation? Why does nobody raise this topic, it is literally a fraud

Just buy it on gog. 30 day refund, no limitations, no drm. Manual patches, Manual installer (offline installer) It puzzles me still that people buy games on Steam when they can buy it on GOG.

Only reason I can imagine is that you´re too stupid to install mods without workshop. But in that case, you shouldn´t be allowed to use mods anyway, peasant.

^^ Do this on your first playthrough to get a feel of the game

Don't you get 2 hours from release. The EA period doesn't count does it?

The solution ofcourse, is to create a basic character to get a feel for the gameplay. Before going all out on CC.

I would like to see a more generous refund window for some games though. There have been a few games I've played that had the first hour being taken up by forced cutscenes and tutorial gameplay that doesn't really give a clear picture of the actual gameplay.

I'd also like to see Steam allowing players to refund if serious game breaking bugs exist in a game, regardless of playtime. Think Cyberpunk levels of broken.

To quote the "Baby of the Year" sketch: "Looks like we got a certified ♥♥♥♥♥ on our hands". I want back the 30 seconds it took to read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OP.

so you don't have to start over after already having invested 2 hours into a game in case you liked it?

You are being hypocritical. If you do not know if you will like this game then randomise your character and find out FIRST, before you actually spend time making your character.

YOU are the one who doesn't know whether you will enjoy the game or not. YOU are the one who tried to claim that this game was fraudulent by having a good character creator. YOU are the one who needs to find out if you like this game before the 2 hour window finishes and you're no longer able to refund.

These are all YOUR issues that YOU need to deal with. Larian is not responsible for your inability to skip the character creation process to find out if you like the game or not. That is YOUR problem.

Either skip character creation and play for 2 hours, or don't complain. This is your decision and you making the wrong one doesn't mean Larian is frauding you. You've made the decision to spend most of the refund window in character creation. That's on you,

Some people have it hard in their lives. Why does nobody raise that topic?

Steam's 2 hour refund window isn't a trial period. It's "no questions asked" so you can definitely use at as a trial period, but it is not designed as such, hence why it is so short. It would be more accurate to say you're defrauding developers than to say developers are defrauding you.

As for your "rights as a customer," if you're not in the EU, you have no such rights. Steam doesn't have to give you a refund. In fact, if you "abuse" the feature by constantly refunding games, I can confirm from personal experience that Steam will strip the privilege from you.

Ok, then tell us, in an incredibly long and story driven game like this that lets you create your own character, what the ♥♥♥♥ would the solution be?

so you suggest to play the same content right after having played it for 2 hours just before? Thats stupid, waste of time and not fun. If it is designed that way intentionally then its either bad design or a manipulation
