Larian Launcher prevents NVIDIA Advanced Optimus display mode switching

When I start BG3 on my Razer Blade 16, Advanced Optimus is unable to switch the display over to the discrete GPU. When I click on the error message, I'm told that "LariLauncher" is blocking a display mode change.

Additionally, when I start the Vulkan version of the game this way, the game does not start with HDR support. If I manually change my laptop's display mode to "Discrete GPU only", HDR works as expected.

Got same issue, tried to use parameter that skips launcher, but it didn't help.

Same issue here on Razer Blade 16 4090; switched to GPU only. Any luck?
Also are you running it in 4k with dlss or using the Geforce Experience recommended settings?

If the problem is the launcher, just fire up the game from the exe skipping the launcher? you can do it, even keep steam closed if you wish so.

I get this issue, too. For now, I'm just closing the launcher right before the game actually starts to load. Hopefully Nvidia will make a fix

Kiwi's suggestion seems to work great for me! No notification about graphics switching being blocked, and skipping the launcher is pretty convenient!

r click the game in yur library and open properties
in the launch param window put: --skip-launcher
this bypasses it. not sure if it defaults to dx11 or vulkan, maybe whatever you ran it as last.
keep an eye on that if it matters
