Was wondering this as well, but I assume this is not a priority and trading cards will eventually will be added in the future.

I'm asking myself the same question. Given that their previous and Baldur's Gate games have them it's clear disregard to the platform (and the playerbase on steam).
I too expected a feature complete and fully playable game.
I'm waiting until that's the case (i made a post about that too).
Heavily disappointed and can't refund because of the ea time.

Imagine refunding because there are no trading cards, but the game is incredible

Imagine expecting the bare minimum...
I could go on for days with sarcasm but i'd rather not waste too much time...
Especially on a private profile.

As a lvl 149, I too would have really liked the game to have trading cards. Seemed to be rather easy too could have had original artwork or an even easier set that was origin character portraits as the cards. That said i don’t see how having cards, some emoticons and backdrops makes the game feature incomplete and unplayable.

I didn't say not having cards makes the game unplayable.
They had badges for Divinity (not old ones they didn't work on) and both BG1EE and BG2EE have that too.
What's so bad these days in expecting the minimum and not backwards decisions ?

I'm pretty sure they're going to be added once everything gets stabilized post-launch, along with the point shop stuff, if you check the official store page tags, there's a bunch of stuff missing along with the achievements tag and we have them.

The game is fully playable. Trading cards are just not there. Maybe they'll be added, maybe they wont. Its in no way game breaking

Not really the minimum then. It's an extra feature.

Not even Valve bothers to add trading cards to all of their own games. Of the 27 Valve games that could possibly have trading cards, only 7 do. The last time Valve released trading cards for one of their games was in 2013.

Once again, i did not say it makes the game unplayable.

It's not an extra, it's one of the features of the platform.
When putting a game on, say, PS4, the minimum is the game working and trophies (in most case since it's the standard now) and the game supporting PS4 controllers.
I'm talking about standards. Everyone has his own, some lower than others but that the lowest is the thing consumers MUST expect. So pardon me, but maybe i don't lower my standards (or have them at the lowest).

I don't play any game by valve which is clear given that my account is public and not restricted at all.
When were their lastest title without badge released ?
Is the team beyond the games the same beyond steam ?
Valve or PlayStation or nintendo -whatever- are all corporations and the first concern is money (makes sense) so yeah PS owned studios can still produce bad or unoptimized stuff, same as others including valve.

I don't see the point to vilify consumers who want better pruducts.
Not only you but people doing this just ultimately shoot themselves in the foot.

How is it delusional to have standards ?
If it is delusional, isn't pretty much everyone delusional ?
