this is only an issue for me due to 3 ppl in the house downloading the game at the same time so i take its not a server overload issue. and i live in Australia, so i know id see it if it was server side

You don't have to delete the EA version, but it was strongly recommended by Larian to avoid any issues since almost none of the code is the same from EA to live.

I'm getting my full speed here in the UK, which tops out to 55MB/s. It is 4pm over here though and I expect there to be more congestion after 5pm when people who are at work today come on. The best bet is to switch your region to an area where it is out of peak hours. Australia would be a good bet as it will be early hours of the morning there.

Yo I found a solution, I used my VPN and changed to Tokyo hehe went back from like 5 Mbps to 300 Mbps... Not a bad trade considering I usually download at 440 Mbps. Using Tokyo is worth itttt :D

I got at the peak the first 5-10 minutes 62MB/s. Now i get 15-20MB/s and sometimes even lower. I checked the connection and it is running as it should in terms of speed. It does have something to do with Steam servers.

Downloading at 290 MB/s peak average. Taking less than 10 mins for me. Oh look. It's done Let's GOOOooo!

Me and my friend are on 60mp/s and 130 mp/s respectively and stable. If you are on lower it is likely due to conditions in your country or throttling by your isp .. nothing to do with steam. Europe is lucky RN since it's still before everyone gets back from work.

Your fiber connection means didley-squat. It does not mean that you will have those speeds all along the path to your computer. You have a fire hose connected to 1/8" water line somewhere along the way, and many times, that small hose connection is at the source.
