The point of the Druid is being able to fill most roles effectively and/or act as support to the one doing the primary role while at the same time still providing the group with unique advantages.

It's flexibility is it's strength, it can tank/dps and heal.

If you had a balanced group and added a Druid there would be no debate about if it was welcome or going to be useful to the group. The group would discuss which type of Druid would fit best.

They are highly adaptible.

I believe they have wildshape for anything - let it be tank, aoe or even support.

Also small wildshapes can fit in narrow spaces.

Being neutral the druid is usually neither bad nor good.

Moon Druid was the ♥♥♥♥ in EA. I could turn into a polar bear as a bonus action

i absolutely loved druid in EA!!! But I cant help but feel that maybe I wasn't as useful as like a spellcaster or a melee character or a stealth char, or even someone meant for talking and stuff

MAYBE IM BAD AT THE GAME
Apparently some are bad in Bear form.

Druid are cleric with a nature twist so they are pretty good.

Also they dish good damage with call lightning and can go melee in wildshape.

Not bad at all. The thing is, in EA the bear form became really obsolete at lv 5, but it's a support class with access to great AoE that can be reativated every turn (moon bean and then call lightning). Add some water surfaces and you become deadly.

Of the twelve classes released, and with guessing about monk, I'd probably put it just below the middle of the pack. A lot of other classes can do things better, but very few can do all of what a druid can do.
