I guess I should check a guide on multiclassing guess.
Thanks for the info.
I've been told you can do whatever you want in the game, I'm planning on sticking to the same class as well, but we will see :D.
Pure class is usually better and easier than multiclass unless you have something very specific you're going towards and understand the opportunity cost. You'll be absolutely fine in the game without multiclassing.
4 party members of the same class isn't a good idea
Might be the case. Will need to consider that, is 1 fighter at the front enough?
Just read some stuff on multi classing and I see you keep your stats while getting the bonuses from the other class, therefore I guess CHA based classes would be a great option for my Bard? I was actually debating between being Bard/Paladin I guess I can do this with Multi class.
Are there any downsides to doing this? Still reading the post.
Thanks, I meant playing one pure class, not 4 members of same class.
I've found it best to have at least 2 melee characters but they don't both need to be tanks. Cleric can help out in melee (especially with spells like Spirit Guardians) but it's important to consider Concentration, you still don't wanna be getting hit too much.
Depending on the Bard college you choose (namely Valor or Swords) your Bard could help out as well, and they generally don't use as many Concentration spells as Clerics do
Same is true for tank.. Paladin, fighter, cleric, barbarian.. Any class really just not a really low hp class as they suck at it.
So depending on perspective there are Tanks, DPS & heals in D&D, it just isn't the conventional term for the roles if you started playing d&d before you started playing MMO.
Sure, there aren't just 3 roles that are important to cover, and most characters will cover multiple roles but every character will probably have a favorite role where they excel the most and whether you call it damage or DPS, the idea of what that role must do in a combat situation is exactly the same.
