Can someone from Larian confirm the SSD situation
Because it makes no sense that an SSD is required. Is this a language barrier issue as I know the devs are not English.

EA was literally running fine on my 6yr old machine and im not buying an SSD just for this game when Im halfway building a new rig. Will be abit annoyed if I go to boot the game it and doesn't let me play although again it makes no sense why it would.

You do realise the average PC Gamer updates their rig every 5 years right?

Adding an SSD is a very very minor upgrade, takes seconds and gives a huge benefit. Why would you wait to do that?

Just did this recently and unscrewing my Case took longer than installing the SSD xD.

How do you not have an SSD on a 6 yr old machine? I've had SSDs for 20 years, and wouldn't even think of using anything else. It's like 4 cents a GB now. You mean to say that you have enough money for a $60 game but not a $20 SSD? Step out of the 1990s and come back to reality, unless you run a server then you shouldn't have an old HD anymore. I didn't even realize that they were still sold in computers 6 years ago. Maybe if you stop making bad decisions then you'll not be so upset about it when that bad decision comes back to bite you.

the 90s was the greatest gaming decade. Why would I want to step out? Serious question Lol.

Some of us a massive amount of games. I only run certain programs off my SSD. The vast majority of my games are on the older and much larger drive.

You know, in 2023 they have 30-50 TB drives now for under $400. Between ssd and m.2 I only have 5 TB real estate on those and all those Sony games or fast action ones that quickly eats up space real fast. I have no SSD space available right now especially for 150 gig download have to delete stuff I don't want to.

It is a language barrier when it says required when it's not. Might as well say 4090ti and newest flagship intel required when its not especially for a slow paced adventure game.

These fetuses only play 2 or 3 games. The idea of having 100GB of Doom Wads & 200GB of Fallout Mods just eludes their understanding..

Have cleared 200G of space on my SSD just to be sure :D
Wraith Aug 3, 2023 @ 4:05am
Then get a bigger SSD
You know there are ones out there for like 2TB and are still cheap

I think it was a typo tbh. It runs fine with a solid 7200 RPM HDD. I ran it off my laptop during early access before I upgraded to desktop. It makes no sense to bump the hard drive requirements. The only thing the solid state drive will do for you is make file swapping and level loads faster.

if you own a decent graphics card, you don't even need the speed due to the excess caching your card does anyway. Add to that a decent page file space, 32-64 gigs of system memory at a decent speed, and there shouldn't be any noticeable difference unless your HDD is nearly full and fragged to ♥♥♥♥. The only really important requirements on that list are the CPU, GPU, RAM, and OS.

You can technically go out and format a 1 TB thumb drive and use that as storage for the game, and you basically have a poor man's SSD.

you could jsut do what i do.
my Steam gaming drive is an external USB-c ssd drive. so i can take it with me and plug it into any PC and boot up some games.
all my internal drives are for work.... stupid giant Unreal engine project files.

new PC? no probs just plug the external drive back in :D
