Please Larian get rid of your launcher it is horrible

Seriously Larian, your launcher is one of the worst I've had the displeasure of being forced to use. I will not make a Larian account, the launcher is slow as all hell, Even though I have dos2 AND bg3 installed I cannot launch them from the same instance of your braindead launcer. Please, I don't understand why every company believes they need a launcher.

Oh it does, but why add a launcher in the first place to make people have to input the command in the first place? The launcher serves no purpose for the player.

Launchers are a scourge. Will put baldursgate3.exe (or whatever it is called) on my desktop.

Yes that's exactly my issue. What is the reason for its existence? Does it boost metrics within their company for statistics on players or something? Just a way to get everyone to sign up for a membership?

As far as I know, an account isn't needed. Maybe they'll drop a code every so often for some kind of aesthetic item or some little booster. Again though, I have no definitive answer on that

Yes that's exactly my issue. What is the reason for its existence? Does it boost metrics within their company for statistics on players or something? Just a way to get everyone to sign up for a membership?

Its a kind of DRM and most Games of GoG use this to give the Player a fake DRM Free Version.

they hope that you buy DLC etc. from their launcher instead of Steam, so they don't need to give Steam a commission.
Also they can show you ads for merchandise etc. there.

Launcher is also so that you can connect your larian account on ps5 if for some reason you want to play on PS5 AND PC lol

Hmm.. If you can turn it off with a simple click, never to be seen again, I think you cannot flag it as DRM in any way. It's just an optional launcher for those that want to use the Larian account for some reason. As said - It's fully optional, and if you do not want to see it ever again, just click on that option.

I used the off-line installers from GOG, and I do not even have to use a client like here on Steam to install and play the game. So yeah...

You dont even need it to launch the game, fetch the app from the folder and put that on your desktop.
