Bard is the most versatile class in the game, they can heal, buff and debuff and talk their way in or out of situations, but lacks in AC and damage. They can get good AC and damage but then they will give up some of their versatility.
Warlocks make great ranged damage dealers. Think of them as ranged fighters that don't use weapons but magic. They can get really versatile options with pacts and invocations, be it damage, cc or utility, but have very limited spell slots per battle.
Dragonborn sorcerer who wants to burn the whole world with his flames and do anything to get more powerful.
Joyful always happy elven bard with dark urge origin and trying to withstand the temptations.
Tiefling warlock who wants to get rid of his patron and always willing to do the best for all demis. Kind of a jerk to humans.
Warlocks are magic archers. You pick this if you want to deal lots of damage from ranged.
Bards are skill monkeys and buffers. You pick this if you want to handle any situation.
The difference is:
warlock: mostly a single target damage dealer with half the dmg output of a fighter@lvl12 (fighter ~80 dmg a round, warlock ~42, rogue ~ 32).
Sorcerer is more restricted in spell choices than the wizard but most important: dual casting -> hasting up 2 targets instead 1 let you keep 2 buffed fighter types in your party which is really op.
Bard is a total garbage class. You can take a mix of mage, cleric spells but most times only the useless ones. In Solasta the bard became only useful after getting his rank4? aoe spell which was quite good as addition to a real mage (skill checks for lockpick, pickpocket, dialogs can be put on any other character).
Spell slots on short rest.
