Sadly, the Blade cantrips likely wont be in game.
How satisfying they feel is going to come down to Class balance and spell lists, but Larian seems to be trying to make progression feel solid across the board for all classes.
No real "best" though.
Some games make you specify.
In a party based campaign, the "best class" is very subjective. Because it could be the "best" on paper, but not perform as well as another one that should be worse but has better synergy with a certain party composition choices in the campaign.
Strangely, I find Eldritch Knights terrible at it, as their spells are all offensive. Doesn't complement their sword swinging, but does let them handle groups and some utility.
Devotion Paladin. They get a class feature that lets them add their Spellcasting modifier to their attack rolls. They also have some neat close range features and good spells.
Spore Druid is also a viable 'spellblade' as Druids get Shillelagh, a cantrip which let's them attack and deal damage using their spellcasting modifier when attacking with a club or quarterstaff. Spore Druid is because they get really good close range class features.
You can also go Eldritch Knight Fighter. They deal damage and attack w/ Strength or Dexterity, but they get spells to cast alongside that.
Other than that, wait for mods. There will certainly be a Hexblade Warlock class mod within 2 weeks which is the epiphany of 'spellblade'.
Action surge, haste , quicken spell would allow you to cast up to 4 spells each round.
Wear any armor, use any weapon as well.
