Any good dragons?
Sick of games that constantly demonize dragons. Tired of all the ignorant hate and murder hobo mentality against them in gaming. Tired of writers always making them the standard copy and paste villains. We can be good guys and loyal companions you know.

EDIT: Was a fun discussion. But I'm tapping out for now. While I could have just googled the answer, I wanted a community opinion, and not some random babble from google. Than you for the insight, and the responses.

The lore states that Chromatic dragons, the ones based on colors like red, green, white, black, are typically more evil or greedy monsters.
The Metallic dragons, ones that are bronze, silver, gold, are typically more good aligned.
Now there are exceptions in these cases likely, or ones that technically fit good or evil, but depending on how you view their choices in following their creed you may disagree, but that's the basic gist of it.

The silver dragon was friendly in BG2 if you chose not to murder her or destroy her egg. Maybe she's still in the underdark eating the drow

yea as everyone has said dragons are much more nuanced in DnD lore. from the chromatic dragons are more "evil" and Metallic dragons "good". Dragons are sentient creatures capable of complex thought, so they can still individually fall into alignments as other sentient people. Also dragons are capable of polymorphing into humanoids, some types of dragons like silver and steel do so more often. i forgot which one silver or steel actually get so into the role of being the humanoid that they live out that personas entire life.

It is lazy and simple to use them as rawr burn burn burn devices. Effective, but lazy.

Don't be surprised if there's a gold dragon that we bump into that's disguised itself as a begger or some such. That's also a common trope.

But who knows, right? The setting isn't about dragons so it's not super important either way if others show up.

... and red dragons are pretty much about that rawr burn burn life.
I don't mind a fair balance. Anyone can be that same murder hobo like red dragons XD. But I like flavor, and it's just boring to have just one flavor of murder hobo dragons, or any other creature for that matter.

what do you mean sick of constantly demonize dragons. There was this game called...skyrim maybe you heard of it? And parthanax was more complicated than merely a mustache twirling evil guy. Also maybe you heard of...world of warcraft where there are a lot of "good" dragons.

I mean there is a whole class of dragons that are decidedly not bad guys.

Played and enjoyed both. I don't care for WoW raids. Warcraft's dragon lore is... A hot mess to put it plainly. Alexstrasza is... Ugh. Dragonflight was fun though. I enjoyed playing as a dracthyr. The only reason I played it. But, I stopped playing after the story and couldn't keep playing so I was wasting my subscription. The writing is so silly with Warcraft's dragons. The Chunky cartoon graphics are also painful to look at.

Skyrim is Skyrim XD. I loved Paarthurnax. Pretty sure there are plenty of dragon mods to have fun with too.
