he might have hated 4th but everyone hated 4th. it came out a month before he died so maybe?

I mean i don't care for 5e either... but its super popular.... people seem to love it. So WOTC did something right? probably critical role popularizing it mostly but eh what ever. We have 2 really good PF1e games so i think having a good 5e game is fine.

OP would have been correct, if not for a minor mistake: GG's bones could not have shrieked at 5e, since they have already been incinerated by rotational friction caused by 4e.

Otherwise yes, 5e sucks. But it's what we have today. Sad how the stupid/evil WoTC won't even allow developers to make games based on 3.5e, so they have to use Pathfinder instead.

The last edition Gygax saw was 3.5. He knew 4th edition was coming and he just couldn't bear to see it happen so three months before it released he noped out.

Personally I am hoping the modders improve on the subpar system that 5e is further.
Larian already did a good deal.

It would also be nice if they brought back some of the classes that 5e took out, (dragfire adept, Dragon shaman, Duskblade and about a dozen others were a shame to lose)
