There is a life lesson here....don't walk into fire.

they should program the AI to jump over the fire, i hope this is fixed , it has happened to me a few times in a specific area

They jump if you jump. If you just run into the fire and stand there, they will just die.

that's weird. In DOS 2 chars dodge dangerous ground if they can

I control characters in a computer game. I walk them into a room full of fires and make them stand in the flames. They catch on fire and die. How could the game do this to me! Stupid, stupid game!

it's a PEBCAK error

i dont want to be salty or anything and of cause i will be more cautions in the future - still, it felt surprisingly easy to get killed by inviromental burning stuff
I agree 'don't stand in fire' is good advice, but it *would* be nice if the pathfinding in the full version didn't walk into it if you don't explicitly order someone to do so.

I've manually walked my own character around ♥♥♥♥ only to have the rest of the party follow after him in a straight line through the fire. It's easy enough to direct the lead, but if you gotta separate everyone to send them through one by one that's kinda pupu.

I wish create water or something was a spell most character default too

If it makes you feel any better, level 1 characters have fairly low HP pools. Once you have a few levels gained a little fire won't kill you so fast.
first lesson we learned when playing any mmo

DON'T STAND IN THE FIRE!

this lesson still applies.
