Recommended to install on SSD?
What if you haven't got a large enough SSD? Most of my games are on a standard 2 TB hard drive of which has 800gb unused. I have an 250gb SSD but it contains Windows 10 and other things and only has 45gb spare.

I am not going to invest in an SSD just for the sake of one game. Yes I know the majority of modern PCs have large SSDs but at the time of me buying this computer about two and half years ago it wasn't within my budget ( an RTX 2070 Super gfx and an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X processor with 32gb RAM was more important)

How much difference will it make being installed on a standard HD. I know the load times will be a bit longer. What other differences will it make?

So I'm not very technical about the insides of a computer.
I have an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING motherboard and what I can gather from internet it has:
6 x SATA 6Gb/s
2 x M.2 Socket 3

Are these the parts I should be concerned about to do with SSD and HDD. If so where would (do you think) the HDD would be connected to and where would my small SSD be connected to?
What I'm thinking is have I enough room for another SSD without moving the HDD and SSD I already have installed?

Yes, the two M.2 sockets are for NVMe SSDs which are the good ones.

Those might be too expensive for me but I'm not ruling them out. I take it my HDD wont be connected to one of those M.2 slots and what about the SSD I've already got?

What kind of tijuana quality ssds are those?

I've noticed the SSD I already have is a 256Gb PCS 2.5 SSD

It's a Crucial P3 so a decent brand.

As I said elsewhere, it's less than half the cost of the game.

Dude just get the Crucial P3 from Amazon if you are US based.

$25 plus tax. $40 for the 1TB version. Solid reputable ssd

You can get a 500 gb external SSD drive for 40 bucks btw. Thats pretty cheap unless you live in third world or something.

Like most games, I'd assume it'd make things easier for you installing on an SSD if you have one and have the space. My latest computer is full on SSD of stupid amount with no hard drive so I'm set in that regard, but I'd imagine things would be fine for someone who doesn't have SSD, loading might just take a bit longer.
McDeath Aug 2, 2023 @ 6:38pm
regular ssd drives should not be recommended instead it should be nvme drives as they are in pcie 3.0 at least 12x faster than any sata drive is and 4.0 way faster than that
Myth Alric Aug 2, 2023 @ 6:38pm
As long as it works, even a cheap, slow ass SSD, is still a significantly faster than a harddrive.
GmanUK1965 Aug 2, 2023 @ 6:39pm
I think it will be 1tb minimum. I reckon I can afford £100 and maybe a bit more

Just get a WD-black p50 doesnt exactly matter if you get or dont misses doesnt have SSD and has no problem with loading screens. But WD-black p50 has transfer rate of like 2000mgs /s2 so if all else fails this is well worth the money and for price at 4tb well well worth more so if u have laptop or something.

Can’t imagine modern gaming without an SSD. SSD’s are so cheap these days as well.

Spending £15-40 on an SSD (depending on the size you aim for) isn't much of a hardship.

Rhetoric like this makes me support video game piracy purely out of spite.

Got 3 of these for aesthetics on my current build ( need to upgrade pc but waiting for rog matrix to come out)

Games going to take half of the remaining space on my main drive out.

Really sad part is I have a Samsung 2 TB ssd that I removed to put those in there, bigger than all 3, faster, just doesn’t look as nice so it sits and collects dust smh.
