Wild Shape: Bear monk?
Is bears claw attacks considered unarmed for monk or are they considered monk weapons? I mean would flurry of blows and other monk UA-feats work with bear?

I'm kinda planing on trying to make tanky char that can do some dmg.

Circle of the Moon druid 2 for bear shape.
Wildheart Barbarian 3 for Rage: Bear Heart
Last 7 levels to monk either Way of Shadow for teleport or Way of the Four Elements for Clench of the North Wind (Hold Person).

"Natural" weapons like claws and tails do not count as unarmed attacks unless I'm misremembering.
I don't know if it'll actually work, but the image of Kung Fu Bear is so appealing I hope it does.

Hmmm. I guess we shall see how this will work in BG3. Mabe Larian has done some changes. Kungfu Bear FTW!

Does your animal form get the ac bonus of the monk?

I dont think that monk & barbarian unarmored bonuses stack. Only the highest score will be calculated.

He should? As long as he wasn't wearing physical armor I think.

Daum. If this works... Oh lord... In theory the bear could have like +15 AC from DEX, CON & WIS and +3 from Mage armor and +2 from Shield of Faith for total of +20AC. :O

At a guess: Monks have the right to bear arms, but cannot arm bears. In other words, you can get the AC bonuses (generally), but not the fisticuff related monk bonuses.

Still, a pugilist bear sounds too hilarious to pass up, it is right up Larian's alley.

Basically none of those stack. At best if it's been made that way, you'd get <eitheR> the from AC from Con OR Wisdom.

However, in normal D&D, you'd take the highest between the creatures natural AC, and your unarmoured defence.

You only ever get 1 AC calculation.
Mage armor sets your AC to 13+Dex
Barbarian UA sets your AC to 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier.
Monk UA sets your AC to 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
Tortle(Not in BG3) sets your AC to 17, but no dex modifier.

None of those ever stack. When you transform into a beast, that is normally considered "natural armour" (and the weapons are natural weapons, not unarmed), so you take whichever is highest between the natural armour, or your other armour calc. Never combine.

This isn't Pathfinder 1E, the game is designed specifically to avoid people getting against stacking a ton of modifiers all together.

Ah. Yes. This is what I was expecting. Thanks for clarifying this, but still bear gives extra 30HP and using barb rage it's more like 45HP. :)

But you cannot do both in first turn first barbarianrage..then bear shape..both bonus actions..
