Personally, I hate dice cheating in any form even if it 'helps' me.
I did not have that experience at all. I read that early on, the Karmic dice was bugged and did not work correctly. But in a hot fix, they corrected it.

maybe in a 3rd or 4th playthrough to get certain outcomes that i havent seen
Yeah and I feel like the last few runs I did in EA, having Karmic dice on seemed to do what a part of that article states...
...."In the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 release, the Karmic Dice feature will ensure that players and NPCs have a fair chance of landing critical hits and successful attacks. The feature will prevent back-to-back high successes or failures with rolls, creating a more balanced gameplay experience."
I have more fun in a game when I feel like it is a balanced combat experience.
