Edit: I'll always have fond memories of DDO because he voiced one of the adventures. Delera's Tomb
The rest, I absolutely agree.
That doesn't sound like something Gary would wanted you saying.
D&D for all.
What is this gatekeeper, hipster crap?
Anyway, I think an in-game gravestone tribute to a man who, no matter how foundational to the hobby, died fifteen years ago would come across as more tacky than anything else.
Co founded D&D. Though he’s like that other guy from marvel not named Stan.
Think he’s also more obscure because he didn’t really do much after leaving TSR and wasn’t as active like Gary was doing Gen-cons and making other games.
It's nice to pay respects but it's a game not a funeral service; it's like saying there should be a memento hidden in every campaign WotC puts out going forth.
Move on.
DDO was fun and a good D&D game.
I wish Dangerous Journeys ( Gary’s other PNP game he made after leaving TSR) would have been finished as a video game. But not many games made it or stuck around back then.
Wow.... You are the D&D MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're the guy who was there from the start. You played the tabletop game. You read the books. You know all the names of the people who created D&D. You are probably among the top 10 people who has a real, legitimate reason to play this game. Most people don't even know ANYTHING about D&D.
Guys, gather round. We're in the presence of greatness here. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you D&D legend ZARTANYEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such an honor. Such an honor...
I didn’t mean it as it should be in here or would it be.
I was saying it as how WoTC disrespects the man, D&D fans, and their own employees that were from before the take over of TSR.
I highly doubt Gary would approve or support anything WoTC have done with his IP since acquiring it, let alone the complete disrespect for the writers and artists who made D&D what it is.
Didn't do much after leaving TSR? That's simply not true.
Disrespect? What are you referring to? I'm pretty sure I saw Gary's birthday pasted all over the WOTC social media.
You have an obvious hate-boner and it's on full swing.
