If you're going with Karlach and Shadow, then technically in terms of optimal party you can either make a Bard to cover Dialogue, Utility and help with combat and get Gale for Offensive Caster,
or go with Sorc as the Offensive Caster and Dialogue and get Astarion for Utility or mess around with Shadows spec a bit to make her Support and Utility so you can take whatever 4th companion you want.
Anyone can pick locks but whoever has proficiency in Sleight of Hand and has Dex bonuses will be better at it, hence why Rogue is considered one of the best for it, though you could turn Shadow into a Dex Cleric and have her heal and pick locks for example
Bards are interesting for their musical aspect and the interactions they wrote with the music
They are both charisma casters but bards focus more on skills with jack of all trades and expertise so ide give the edge to bards for MC.
Bards can indeed pick locks and in my Bard game my MC was the one doing Sleight of Hand stuff.
Put a point in Proficiency and Jack of all Trades gives +1 to every roll makes you pretty decent at picking locks. Obviously not as good as a Rogue but enough to get by.
Not enough information. You have your frontliner and support so right now you are missing your utility and blaster. Bard is utility and sorc is blaster.
Bards can do everything in the game but not as good as the specialty class. Bards are a great multiclass character, especially with Cleric.
dont know if they have a paladin NPC if they do i want that for 4th
In a second playthrough I may try a sorcerer and warlock multiclass.
