That's like saying Soulsborne games are always online because the game doesn't stop while you're in menus, even in offline mode.
yeah i had no clue what these where talking about...
but yeah the game world doesnt stop when you are in the menu
(this does not mean its always online)
I havent seen if its changed in full release but closest thing to a pause is toggling turn based mode which will make the game stop until you either leave it or end a turn
the only thing you can't do offline is play Co-Op Online, but if you have a buddy in your home you can still paly couch co-op offline
i likeraly spend 1 week waiting for my internet to get install only playing BG3 EA, its 100% offline
There were some very rare occasions in Divinity Original Sins 2 were you can get caught in a fight or something happens when you leave your keyboard.
But maybe a pause button (like "pause" on the keyboard) wouldn't hurt...
