how playable is it with a GTX970
Did not play the early access and i was wondering how well my good old GTX970 can handle this game?
also got 16GO DDR5 and a ryzen 2700x, should be fine on that part

Well that card is one of the minimum requirements for playing this game, so it'll play. Just don't expect any miracles.

Well you meet the minimum specs but I wouldn't expect anything more than medium visuals at best (your graphcis card IS the minimum spec, your CPU is between the min and recommended, and your RAM is the recommended).

on medium 50-60 fps

Wellll.... since the 970 is minimum spec, I'm going to say it's playable.

But, good news. Steam has a 2 hour play time return window. Buy it and try it. If you're not happy with performance, refund it.

i dont really mind if the game is not at super high graphical settings, I just want the game to plays smoothly

Ran fine 1080p, steady 60fps, med-high settings on my good old amd 580 when first tried it, which is kind of a relative card to yours. I’d imagine in that ballpark should be okay for you too.

The main thing to watch is how much VRAM it uses. The game says it requires 4 GB of VRAM, but the 970 was notorious for only having 3.5 GB of usable VRAM despite advertising 4. They even had a class-action lawsuit because of it.

I played EA with a homemade desktop with a 970 and 16GB and a 1st gen ssd and it ran fine. I even ran it at 4k medium and played well enough for a CRPG.

I used to have one too. My point was that, if the VRAM usage gets too high, you can just dial back the settings (like textures) to make it work. It shouldn't be a problem. Just don't expect to run on ultra.
Recommended specs will usually account for vsync being enabled, which it usually is by default as it is more widely acceptable, to avoid screen tearing. If you can run the game with vsync turned off you'll have a better time with frame rate. Your main issue would be resolution and texture fidelity due to VRAM.

How was your experience? I'm thinking about buying the game w/o updating my card but I'm afraid of act3... Any thoughts or something to share? :)
