Will Minsc still be a ranger?
Will Jaheria Still be a Fighter/Druid?
In the trailers we see Minsc being "resurrected" from some kind of petrification state or something? Been a while since I have seen it. Given his Goodie 2 shoes lack of intelligence character I have been thinking what if he was remade as a Vengence Paladin? Seems fitting to me!
That would be fantastic indeed! I totally forgot about that.
Maybe we can also get Boo as a playable companion/familiar with the action skill called "Go for the eyes!"?
In BG1 Minsc was a ranger, but at the start of BG2 as a result of having his witch killed he Duel classes into Barbarian.
In 2nd edition, dual classing was very different from 5e multiclassing, you couldn't use your old skills until you surpassed your old level (well not without losing experience points), you could never go back to your old class, you could do it as many times as you were able to qualify for classes, and you started at level 1 in the new class and were effectively a level 1 character running around with a high level party, which meant you gained levels really quickly.
That is not at all what happened, you are very much misremembering. Minsc was a Ranger for his entire BG adventure, and ranger can't even dual into barbarian by the rules those games went by.
Actually according to the BG2 wiki he never actually became a Barbarian, but he did have the Berserk feature, which was similar to a barbarian rage.
I stand corrected. However you are wrong about him not being able to Dual class, you needed to have a 15 in the prime requisite of your old class and a 17 in the prime requisite of your new class and you could switch out once you reached level 2. So if Minsc had the stats he absolutely could have.
What I said was that ranger can't dual into barbarian by the rules Baldur's Gate went by, which is entirely true. The only legal multiclass or dualclass for rangers in those games was Cleric.
