Because consoles are optimized using a different control scheme?? The hell? Lol. The game is optimized for consoles with controller use in mind. That's why it's different, and makes it less awkward. WASD movement for this type of game would. Not. Work. Like I said. It's been tried before and failed as a mod.
Here's mine proving that it would work just fine: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1115845803
EDIT: Also notice how in the comments of that mod, there are only two types of people; those thanking the modder for their work, and those wanting the same mod for DOS2.
You should also take a look at Dragon Age Origins and Neverwinter Nights.
The PC version will have full controller support like PS5. This has been confirmed. It's actually the same as PS5.
You still will have a top-down perspective, though, and even the console version is like that. This is not a third person RPG. Inquisition was garbage, if you want garbage games go elsewhere.
Just hookup your controller and you get that exact experience
"If you ONLY want WASD movement, that's everything you need. I'll tell you what to add."
That is, switching to the 1st person view of a particular character does not occur.
If you were attentive to the requests of other people, then you would not even offer it.
That's the game you're getting. You're just mistaken about what you saw and are making assumptions then refusing to acknowledge your ignorance when we point it out.
There is no difference between the PS5 and PC version. If you use a controller on PC in 2 days, it'll be EXACTLY the same as what you saw in the trailers.
What you're ASSUMING, is that the game always plays like that, which is incorrect. There specific instances like events and conversations where the camera zooms in and takes a more cinematic angle, this is already true on PC. However, you can't control the camera then or play like that out of those moments, it's all preset.
Using a controller will get you the UI and movement like PS5, which is a relevant ask, and should get you 99% of the way to what you probably want with WASD.
There is no over the camera mode, not even for PS5. It's top-down even for them. You can zoom close if you want, just like other top-down CRPGs, but you can't swivel the camera around so you will blind yourself to everything around you like if you were using a magnifying glass.
