WASD controls in exploration mode?
Is there any hope that in 1.0 we'll get an over the shoulder camera with WASD controls? something like Dragon Age Inquisition, because it's a shame if they wouldn't, the game has some beautiful sceneries.

That's literally how console versions and playing with a controller is going to work for this game though...

It's not too much to ask to have parity for keyboard.

Because it wouldn't work lol. Wasd pans the map. Someone tried modding wasd into Divinity Original Sin 2 and it was God awful. Wasd movement simply does not work for crpgs. Your best bet is to use a controller
Again, what I mean is something like what they show in the PS5 trailer, Larian could easily do it, since they did it for PS? lmao, and again, if you hold the mouse you can get a similar result so why not add it? and in DOS2 you can't zoom so much like in BG3.
Because. It. Wouldn't. Work. You're not listening. They did it for ps, because consoles are better optimized using a controller. Wasd movement would be awkward. Zooming in the camera is irrelevant. It will still be awakward, because its a crpg. Not an action rpg. Crpgs use a specific control scheme on keyboard, but if you want it in so badly, make a mod yourself.

You will still end up shifting away from that perspective more than often to be able to navigate properly.

I'm good at controlling cameras...

Also, why are you insisting that this game is going to be unplayable on consoles? Because that's what I'm getting out of these arguments against direct controlled movement.

why not make it toggleable? add an option in settings, or a keybind? I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that feature since not many people are used to point&click games including me.

Why are you putting words into my mouth xD
I am saying you won't be in that 3rd person perspective for general exploration all the time, because you have to use the top down view for a lot of things.

You are literally saying that direct controlled movement doesn't work for these types of games. Well guess what, console versions (and PC with controller) uses directly controlled movement instead of point and click.

So yes, you did say that, and I'm not putting any words in your mouth.

Its not direct movement control i'm talking about, its the 3rd person camera perspective.

tried to get my GF to play the game but she could not live with the camera.

This whole thread is about direct controlled movement. OP is not asking for anything that's not already in the console versions.

No. That's not what they're saying. They're saying you're going to have to zoom out while exploring. As it is needed.

Neverwinter Nights did it, and it's a 21 years old game.

Generally speaking, please do [1st percon view] and WASD move from one RPG game to another, is it really so difficult to draw conclusions and give people what they want.
Personally, the 3rd gameplay only disgusts me and the only reason I put up with it is that the source code of the engine is proprietary, which is why it cannot have a good alternative.

Yes. By using a controller. Not a keyboard.

And how's that any different from how controllers are going to work? Like I said in my first comment, parity is not too much to ask.
