I don't know in the US, but in Europe it just tends to be the "western part of the world" in general. That said, we have Western Europe, Central Europe, East Europe, and then North/South.

These "divisions" however, are often the base of jokes and friendly banter. I recommend you take a look at r/YUROP or r/2westerneurope4u to see how Europeans are. Please be aware: sarcasm is heavily used.

Western usually refers to ye ol Cold War nation splits, ie, Nato vs Warsaw Pact/Communist China.

Alternatively, it is a modern update to Occidental vs Oriental, which was typically a Europe/Asia divide (and got weird south of the Med).

I’m French, so Western to me means North American, Western Europe, Scandinavia, and Central Europe. And hopefully Ukraine soon.

Depends on who is saying it. If I see someone from Japan say it, I immediately assume they are referring to America for a long list of reasons.

Thats great that you where hired purely on your voice. Sadly larian picked up multiple voice actors because of their youtube videos and political opinions instead of talent and voice acting experience.
