No pre download and it Will be a full game redownload
Someone else posted a support reply but didn't understand the reply and stated you can just update the game and it wont need a re download and that is false.

You can just update the EA version HOWEVER it WILL re-download the whole game. See here from someone that works at Larian:

To recap you can indeed just "update" the game but it will re-download everything and be a full download.

However It has been suggested to deleted the game completely and download fresh to avoid any potential problems updating it may cause.

Indeed however those other threads have sunk and some joker posted a new thread with support comments yet still got it wrong...so yeah!

I mean since no one here can use the search function anymore it was worth making a newer thread so some people might actually see it and correct information instead of the other one with false information.

Yeah, I opted to do a complete uninstall and just do a fresh install to avoid any issues that may occur when overriding the files.

well, here goes the chance my party and i actually get to play on thursday. what a bummer. not having a preload is not ideal for a 122gb game.
