Feedback/Advice for playing Moon Druid.
I'm wondering, since multiclassing is a thing, would a Moon Druid benefit from any Cleric/Paladin or Assassin/Rogue (forgive my terminology, I'm ignorant to the finer details of how those classes are divided, I don't play DnD but I do play fantasy games) crossover? I heard that Clerics/Paladins (IDK if those are two different things) get skill points from Wisdom like Druids do. Having some kind of protection magics to cast before transforming would be neat. As for the rogues/assassins, do transformed Druids benefit from any kind of sneak stats?

Side Question: The one level gain I got when I played the EA Tutorial didn't allow for distributing like, level up points for strength, intelligence, wisdom, etc, do those points autoallocate on leveling up or is it every other level, I wasn't sure how you pick what to invest in, or if level gains just are like "BAM! You get this." with no point allocation on your end. Are you able to pick a direction for your attributes beyond the initial character creation?

Any advice is appreciated, the more the better. I'd like to learn more of how this works. Never having gotten into DnD it's more interesting and complicated than I expected.

Yes, a wildshaped druid could sneak attack if they had rogue levels as well. You would not benefit much at all (net loss considering you don't take a level of druid) if you multiclass into cleric. Paladins use charisma for their spells, not wisdom.

You'd be better of staying single class druid as you can cast a protective spell then shape change (or a persistent effect that is offensive or controlling) with pure druid. the only multi-class (that you mention) that might be beneficial is rogue but in general a single class character will be stronger unless the multi-class selection unlocks a great synergy AND you don't lose much from the levels of your primary class that you didn't take. Since druid wildshape forms are unlocked based on your druid level, splitting levels with rogue to get sneak attack means you may be losing out on stronger wildshapes.

(just sending a message for people who come across this in the future) You cannot do sneak attack in wildshape in this game because it's an action in Baldur's Gate 3.

you can multi with ranger beastmaster and have 2 bears for the price of one...or you could multi with barbarian so you can rage and shift. You will miss out on the top druid spells and shapes though later on, but you could always respec again later once you get there.

I could take a stab at all these questions, but it occurs to me you'll get your best and most concise answers at bg3.wiki. Click on the Classes Tab, and you'll see how they differ.

... an assassin is a type of rogue, but clerics and paladins are two different classes, though paladins can use cleric spells. Anyway, take a look over there.

Probably best to straight class if you're set on druid. Level 10 for third wildshape attack, level 11 for lvl 6 spells (heroes' feast ftw), may as well go 12 for the extra feat at that point.

You will want proficiencies for myrmidon shape weapons, weapon master feat comes with another str or dex and 4 proficiencies. IDK if war cleric extra attacks can be used in wild shape, if so that's probably better for a 1 lvl dip.

Best thing I found to do with moon druid was upcast summon a water myrm for wet (use one of the many free casts or the amulet to also provide heroes' feast), shape into air myrm and you get 3 electric flail attacks that can stun. It makes a big mess of electrified water hazard for the rest of your group though.

Honestly better off playing a different class than moon druid tbh.

Sneak Attack requires a finesse weapon or a ranged, even when automatically triggered instead of selected. As Wildshape uses unarmed attacks by coding, you cannot sneak attack with it. If you fight in Wildshape form, almost all mutliclassing doesn't matter as your abilities get severely restricted to just those of the form, whose HP and damage will scale with Druid levels. Outside of form, you fight more as a nature Wizard.

As for ability scores, they can be improved only as a feat or with very specific items. You get access to a feat every 4 levels in a class. The most important feat for a Moon Druid is Tavern Brawler, which adds your strength modifier again to all attack and damage rolls you make while unarmed, which is all of your attacks in form. It's also important to note your base Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution does not matter while in Wild Shape, as those stats get replaced by the stat of the animal. That said, certain permanent buffs to those stats will persist through form, but feats aren't one of them.
