Barbarians, however, are always fun to play. Its great to be the person who leaps right into the heart of combat and can bash through doors or skulls with equal proficiency.
Hope that helps.
I mean it is a DnD class, you'll get better opinions from those videos since they are usually DMs talking about it. But the one thing I do like about the Necromancer is the skill they get at second level, every time they kill a creature with their spell, they end up healing themselves. Healing for a lot if you use a spell that belongs to the school of necromancy.
For a Necromancer like class, you only have the choice between a "Wizard: Necromancy" and "Warlock". But both have disadvantages. The Wizard is more like a "Mage" with some Necromancer powers, while the Warlock doesn't really have the choice of Undead in BG3.
With Barbarian you should look into Barbarian, Fighter, or Paladin: Oathbreaker. BG3 is a turn based game. It could be that for you a Diablo like Barbarian in a turn-based game is maybe even more like a Paladin: Oathbreaker.
It's really not that easy to tell you what to do, because of how complex BG3 is and also what you actually find enjoyable.
I would also encourage you to look more into Bard, Rogue, Druid, and Ranger: Beastmaster. All of those classes can have an amazing mixture of Necromancer and Barbarian feeling.
The problem is simply that you have to play Baldur's Gate 3 differently than Diablo. If you just pick something that sounds similar to Diablo, you will maybe become disappointed because of how different the way in BG3 is to approach a fight. In BG3 a fight is all about preparation and planning, while hoping luck is on your side. Especially a class like a Bard is maybe even your favorite class in those kinds of games, where planning something is more important than just killing mob pack after mob pack with the same skills over and over.
Speaking as your local necromancer and savior of all mankind.
Necromancers in 5e got nerfed really hard, as most necromancy spells revolve around poison or debuffs instead of the manipulation of the dead. Which is more of an occultists than a necromancer, especially when everything other than humans are resistant or immune to poison and most your debuffs.
So if you play as a necromancer, then prepare to be disappoint. As the enemy necromancers have a lair full of undead while you struggle to keep a few around for more than a few hours without them trying to kill you.
5e hates the idea of minion-mancy due to their poorly handled action economy of minions, where as earlier editions kind of let you go wild.
If you play the TTRPG, most GM's are happy to work with you to make your play-style work. Meanwhile in a game lie this, there is no GM to bend the rules for you unless a modder helps you out.
I highly recommend at least trying it. Like previously stated, we don't know how Larian is handling it, but you will be able to summon minions. If they don't then what the hell is Larian even doing.
