That sucks, but it’s hardly unusual in the gaming industry. I’d argue that most in-gameplay cutscenes are none pause-able. Most are skippable. Would you prefer skippable? Just mash
Esc > Go to main menu;
When you're back:
Resume game.
If you want to leave the pc for some time then simply use esc key, or save and continue later.
Other than this option just look for an external software to pause the game.
