NO PAUSE GAME???

Just started and noticed that there are no pause button, no way to pause the game at all... I only play single and I sometimes have to leave the keyboard, and for most games its fine, because pause is a thing, but not here.... Developers, please fix this!

Yes it was invented for that only a few games had it. We are talking back in the Dos days. Today with windows you just have to tab to something else.

Yes there should be a pause. I got to a cut scene and I couldn't pause it when someone was at the door. So I missed it and had to reload.

Doesn't really matter. Combat is turn based, so your game naturally stops on your turn if you want it to. There is no timer in conversations like Alpha Protocol, so that also stops when you want. And unless it's combat or conversation, nothing happens. So no need to pause.

Press ESC key. The menu is a pause screen too.

No reason to pause in turn based combat. No reason to pause in exploration because stuff doesn’t just move on its own without you being near, but even if it did you could just enable turn based mode on the bottom right

That sucks, but it’s hardly unusual in the gaming industry. I’d argue that most in-gameplay cutscenes are none pause-able. Most are skippable. Would you prefer skippable? Just mash

Ignore this "pause trolling". Not sure if this is the same person, but this thread keeps rising from the dead.

Esc > Save game;
Esc > Go to main menu;
When you're back:
Resume game.

I am a fan of pause option in RTS games, but in BG3 the fights are turn based, so no need for pause.
If you want to leave the pc for some time then simply use esc key, or save and continue later.

In the most games I play, just pressing Esc is enough... my wife is a little crasy get mad if I want to finish watching a cutscene before speaking to her... well, no game can be perfect, but I hoped that a game like baldurs gate would not fail in such basic things....

Quicksave more often then, if she calls for you just go to her without pausing the cutscene and after that reload.

Other than this option just look for an external software to pause the game.

lol, the point is that I dont want to keep doing this.... besides, I would have to load the game 4 or 5 times in a row depending on her mood.... I believe that people with childen have the same problem as I..... anyway, lets hope the modders can one day solve something the devs cant....
