Sure, but unless they're a Moon druid, the new forms won't be especially strong in fights.
If you're wondering why I say druid was the strongest in early access, here's why. Druids have no weaknesses in BG3. Now, what do I mean by that. They have moderate health pool so not low like Wizards or sorcerers, they have access to medium armor and shields meaning their defenses are actually pretty good. Add wildshape on top of that and this makes them rather tanky.
Druids have access to all of their spells for whatever level they're at and can change them out freely outside of combat. They don't have to hunt down spell scrolls or sink a lot of money into acquiring them meaning they don't have to worry about missing out on potential power.
Circle of land has some really strong expanded spells which help fill in the gaps in their spell list giving them stuff like Misty step and haste.
They are the best at battlefield control. They get spells like Create water, spike growth, entangle, web(both through circle of land and through wildshape into a spider which the web is infinite use and not blocked by silence), sleet storm as well as spells to combo with it like thornwhip.
They are also one of the best with stealth because they have pass without trace along with wild shape allowing you to ensure even your party with disadvantage is able to sneak under the noses of foes.
They're also quite strong in Melee too. Because of their high AC, wild shape and unique synergy with magic items the druid although not the best in melee was still formidable.
For most of the time I played early access, Druid was the stand out class. Wizard was close. But the incomplete spell list and inability to get access to medium armor held it back quite a bit.
For full release though I don't think that'll hold. I think Wizards will take the number 1 spot, but that all depends really. I could see Druids proving they're just better in BG3 all the way up to level 12.
Also, what I'd suggest to people as well. Play circle of land druid. I know it sounds boring "Oh I just get domain spells and the druidic version of arcane recovery? that sounds lame." But trust me, that's far cooler than you think. You don't choose your land domain when you get the subclass rather every time you'd get new spells, so level 3, 5, 7 and 9 you get to choose each time. So you can mix say desert with coast, taking only the best spells of each.
Also, Circle of land in early access used wild shape into spider much better than circle of moon. And here's why. Web with the wildshape spider is a bonus action. Combat wildshape is a bonus action meaning you can't cast web as a spider the first turn you wildshape as moon but you can as land.
I'll stand for Land because it is my favorite druid subclass because spells are fun.
