Character/save transfer
So.I want my wife to play this epic story through with me but she doesn't want to biy the game before release. To be honest I don't want to buy it either, because what if she doesn't like it. So, I have the game instaed on 2PC, I log in steam on both, go offline mode then we can ay together LAN on my account.
BUTT
After she spent 12¹² hours to create the perfect looking chaotic good, drow, ranged priest, and she fell in love with the game,
Is it possible to transfer the save somehow to her account?

you can but progress is wiped in a few days anyway

Copy the save file over to where her PC stores them, but it won't work with the full release anyway.

spent 12 hours making 1 character but won't spend 10-20 minutes duplicating it? :shrug:

There's only one save. You host the game load up the save. Then you just have her join your game and give her control of the characters she uses.

Brilliant! If it uses one save that might work. But the game has to save every individual player's data on their pc i guess. The thing is, that she does like to OWN thing, so if she like it in offline mode on my account, she can get her copy. The other thing this that sje is a achievementaholic, or whatever is ot called.

There was a trick to be able to create two custom characters or even more if you wanted, just wait until full game is out to see if it's an option or not. Also do you or your wife own a ps5?

Yes, there is this cross save functionality for these reasons. So that is possible. Can be set in the settings. But with the full release, all the savegames from Early Access are no longer usable, because so many things are changed over again and so on.

Yes we have a ps5 but only for Last of us, horizon amd similar. Doesn't matter... I mean this game worth a lot more to me, Larian is clearly deserved to be payed. I dont F around with saves amd offline mode I just buy it again.

I think you have to buy it on each of the platforms anyway. But, if you bought it on both PC and PS5, you can keep playing the saves on every platform and the progress will be saved if you decide to continue playing on PC, but you startet on PS5. That's the cross save function.

right, if anybody is interested.... Family share. You can share the game between 5 accounts BUT only one of them can be online. so, i share my library with my family, everyone go offline mode than we can play LAN. job done
