Use the community bg3 wiki

When you search bg3 wiki it directs you to the fextralife wiki. However, this wiki (probably due to being commercially run and not community directed) has several cases of outdated/wrong information. One example - the wiki does not give drow the keen senses trait, and I thought for a long time it was removed by larian which is actually not the case.

I have no personal stake in this, I just figured I'd spread the world as this wiki is objectively better and will help a lot of people who wanna theorycraft or have questions about the game.

I apologise if this post's been made before, I just figured I'd give the community wiki as much traffic as possible. They definitely deserve it.

Yeah its super annoying. Especially when you're looking for a good build for an rpg on youtube, and anything good is buried beneath dozens of cookie-cutter fextra builds.

Fextralife wiki steals your content for themselves for commercial purposes and their own profit. Nobody should support that.

I use this Wiki as well. Looks clean and always up to date with Larian's updates (and general accurate information). By the community for the community.

I checked Bg3.wiki now and it's not much better than fextralife. It also has a lot of outdated information.

I'm guessing both will be better after release. Hope so at least

Technically, both wikis are incomplete since the game's EA, but I found the community wiki is more up to date with changes. For example, community wiki shows the updated flexible +2, +1 ability modifiers for the races whereas fextra still has the outdated race stats.

Of course, everyone's free to make their own choices. I made this post because the community wiki has such terrible internet traffic that most people don't even know about it.

Yeah it's very good you did. I have checked it a bit more and Bg3.wiki is much better than fextralife.

the only thing i like about fextralife is the player comments. often they correct or add very important information that the post doesnt or much more importantly just random tips and tricks that you wouldnt find in any wiki post

yeah its real annoying. pretty much anything on fextra is all pre release info that got changed, or was just straight up speculation before the game released.

bg3.wiki is by far superior. Fextralive and Fandoms use a lot of AI to just fill out pages with information scraped from the web so it's highly inaccurate. Like asking ChatGPT for a legal brief.

Fextralive was recently caught using bots to downvote the bg3.wiki threads on Reddit as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sabotage the community wiki just to prop up their corporate money grab of a wiki.
