If you've been sneak attacking with spell attacks as an Arcane Trickster in table top (aside from spells that specifically make a weapon attack as part of the spell, like Booming Blade), then you've been doing it wrong.
The draw of AT is the using of spells to compliment and buttress your skills as a rogue.
Magical Ambush is a lvl 9 AT ability and is different from sneak attack.
