So I can RP my character in first-person just like I RP myself IRL. Why do you think first person wouldn't improve immersion?
Short answer the game isn't designed for it as has been said. Slightly longer answer, you can control any character at pretty much any time. I can't imagine the headache I'd get from constantly switching perspectives as I move from character to character if first person was a thing. We get cut scenes in dialogue which is as close to first person as I suspect the game will get, even with mods.
One of the big thing i liked in neverwinter nights 2 and spellforce 1&2 is that you could swich between top down or first person on the fly.
