Also hopefully they fixed the AI, otherwise you can Sneak at the end of a round and enemies would just sit there not trying to go to your last known location in-combat.
I am certain we can sneak attack. What I am curious of is can I do it with ray spells? In another game, we could perform a sneak attack per die roll when a ray was cast. it was absurd damage, but a load of fun.
Sneak Attack requites a Finessable or Ranged weapon attack. But either way even if they allowed it, like I was saying; only one Sneak Attack in a given round. Doesn't matter if you Scorching Ray, for example.
Edit:
" Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon. "
From the players hand book specifically has to be a finesse weapon or a ranged attack so nope, no ray sneak attacks though i do think the melee cantrips would work. Since its a melee attack that hits with a weapon.
Meanwhile sneak attacking with spells is a nono. DM's might allow it with melee cantrips but that's up to the DM in charge.
