How do I start the game without making a Larian account?

Hello,

I hate keeping track of accounts, passwords, and other odds and ends. When I started the game for the first time it started the Larian launcher instead of the game. I was prompted to make a Larian account, with no obvious way to start the game.

Is there a way to play without making a Larian account?

from what i remember it just asks you if you want to use your steam account instead and then you "link" them

Sure. You hit "skip" and check the "don't ask again" button. Not sure how you missed it, tbh.

You don't have to use Larian's launcher at all. You can skip it. the second page of the launcher has a "skip" option and then you can click on play.

After launch day next week I will be adding this to the BG3 launch properties, --skip-launcher

You will never see it at all after doing that.

The "Skip" option only appears after hitting "Get Started" or whatever. It's not something people would generally notice unless they were willing to get a Larian account in the first place.

Normally "Skip" options appear before hitting "Yes, I will create an account." Larian's system, meanwhile, asks people to say "Yes, I will create an accout. Jk, no thanks," which is a bit unintuitive.
