She is a cleric of Shar and I am a cleric of Selune ... this seems to be the perfect combination for a good romance side-story for my Tavs Adventure. ^.^

Clerics get their powers from the god they worship, not the domain. Gods get power from people who worship them, not people who worship their domain. No god would give power to someone who worships their domain and not them. Also, you have to choose both domain and god in BG3 when making a cleric. Maybe a DM let you get away with it but it doesn't make sense lore wise.
