Mask of the Shapeshifter?

Does this mean we can edit our char looks post creation? and you can only do that with this item? or can anyone do it at some location in game without the mask? also if i but the game now do I get deluxe for free? thanks.

Don't know about your 1st question, but the 2nd, yes if you buy the game now (before 3rd Aug) you get a free upgrade to Digital Deluxe

Most likely it will allow you to cast the spell Disguise Self. How often? No idea, in DOS2 you could use it at will, so maybe it will be the same. Given that it isn't exactly game breaking, I could see it.

Yes, if you buy during EA, you get the upgrade.

Its an item from DOS2, if it functions like it did there it will be a disguise item that lets you look like other races & all the benefits therein.

Actually it would be great to have a similar item with permanent effects, especially for those that want to make trans characters in-game.

Yes, and it was pretty OP in DOS2. It was OP in combat and you could also use it outside of combat. For instance, let's say you play a human and fight those goblins near the windmill with that poor gnome tided to it. Find that fight too tricky? That's fine, just use the mask and turn into a Drow and strike fear into the hearts of those goblins and skip the fight altogether.

It’s literally just an enchanted helmet with infinite uses of Disguise Self. You should buy and play DOS2 after you finish BG3. Play Fane for your first run.

Access to the character creator from anywhere in the game. It will be like the mirror in Fort Joy and the Lady Vengeance. Not sure you can change race.

No bro.. The npc will cost gold and the mask of the shapeshifter is literally just an item with the disguise self spell.

I would assume so. Possibly not race, but i would almost just assume faces and maybe gender since everything is a preset and not custom sliders. Makes it easier for the game to register faces for cutscenes and dialogue. I say maybe not "race" just because I think some armor and weapons require size to use and if you change that, it could mess things up with your current build.... but idk. all speculation.
